Story

Haikee was established in 1959 by Mr Wong Si Han when originated from Hainan, China and came to Singapore in search for a better living. He first started the business along Upper Cross Street, by pulling a bullock cart serving chicken rice to coolies, junk boat captains and business merchants. Life was tough but as he preserved, he subsequently managed to secure a stall on the same street selling Soy Sauce Chicken.

It was then that business flourished and he decided to use ‘ 海记’ Remembrance of the Sea’ as the brand name in commemoration of the journey and hardships he went through. Fast forward to 2017, in a bid to attract younger generation consumers and keeping up with the trends. Hai Kee underwent a major rebranding which emphasises our objective to serve the authentic recipe to consumers at affordable prices It is a also the brand’s desire to cater to all ages and functions be it for the old or young, gathering among friends and families.
